Gulf Shores Electrical installs Level 2 home EV chargers and NEMA 14-50 outlets for all electric vehicle brands throughout Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Baldwin County. Same day installation available.
A standard 120V household outlet (Level 1 charging) adds about 4 to 5 miles of range per hour. For most EV drivers, that is not enough to keep up with daily driving. A Level 2 charger runs on 240V and adds 20 to 30 miles of range per hour, fully charging most EVs overnight.
There are two ways to get Level 2 charging at home. A NEMA 14-50 outlet is a 50-amp, 240V outlet — the same type used for electric dryers and RV hookups. You plug your EV's portable charger into it. A hardwired Level 2 wall charger (like a Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint Home Flex, or Emporia) is permanently mounted and typically delivers faster charging speeds.
We install both options. For most Gulf Shores homeowners, a NEMA 14-50 outlet in the garage is the most flexible and cost-effective choice. For vacation rental properties or homes with multiple EVs, a hardwired Level 2 unit makes more sense.
50-amp, 240V outlet installed in your garage or carport. Works with any EV's portable Level 2 charger. Most popular option.
Permanently mounted wall charger (Tesla, ChargePoint, Emporia, etc.). Faster charging and cleaner installation. Charger unit sold separately.
